LOVELY AFTERNOON ON THE STREET

These young people help me look for a cache. We didn't find it but I enjoyed visiting with them. This town has everything growning here, Pine trees to Palm trees. The so were in the low 80s and at night high 50s and low 60s. Great sleeping!

EASY WAY TO GET TO THE TOP

The ride on the cable car was only 7 mins. We were happy to ride up but we did walk down.

HIGH AND COOL

Actually this was a very quiet place to spend the night. I was lucky and found this cache in the desert. It was behind a old anthill. In the 3rd picture is where we spent 2 nights parked at the hotel Bosque. There was water and electric hooks on the wall of the cafe. The cable entrance is behind the cafe and La Bufa is the top of the mountain.

CACHING AT THE RUINS

Yes that is me with my trusty GPS. It says I'm 4ft from it. I think it hidden in the wall behind me but I wasn't going to stick my figures in those rocks and park people would probably get mad if they saw me doing it. We could see this lovely lake below us but couldn't figure out how to get there. The bus load of kids in the picture are also staying at this hotel. They are pretty well behaved kids.

LA QUEMADA

We always hear about the Maya ruins but here in the north of mexico is La Quemada a major site with very good muesum. We also came here because there is a cache which we didn't find but we enjoyed exploring this ruins. In the gift shop here they had live raddle snakes in glass boxes. That scared us! I'm watched the ground all the way back to the RV.

LA BUFA

There is lot to see and do up here. We talked the trail and found a geocache. Then we were in this large parade area and the soldiers were marching up to the statues and back. These were the leader of the last battle of the revolution in 1914 June 23rd. Many people were here paying there respects and dress has there greatgrandparnets might have been.

ZACATACOS JUNE 22, 2008

These are pictures from the tram that took us up to La Bufa which is 8,585 altitude. The 4th picture is where we got on the tram and also the Hotel Bosque is right behind it and that is where we have been staying. We are just in a parking lot but we have wifi and really nice marble bathrooms to use and we are just above the historic area. We were here about 6 years ago but only spent one night so this is like a first time trip here. Our legs are sore from walking up and down the hills. Many streets are just walking.
