GATHERING THE ALMONDS

Jacque and Vinny resently purchased this land. It has 15 olive trees, many fig and almond trees also pear and bay leaf and acouple of lemon trees. They aren't allowed to cut down the olive trees so some of the almond and lemon trees ha to go to make room for the driveway to the house. Vinny's dad was helping clear the wood was cut into small peices and taken to his home to be used for heat this winter. I did my part by gathering all the almonds and then we worked on the patio to cracke the almonds. The white yard cat enjoyed watching us tapping away on the almonds. Then we took them inside and took the kernel out of the shell. Anna roasted them in the oven and we all enjoyed them. I even had some to bring back with me.
