TZINTZUNTZAN RUINS

Tzintzuntzan is a Purepecha name meaning "Place of the Hummingbirds". It was the capital of the Tarascan league at the time of invasions by the Aztecs in the late 15th century, and by the Spanish in the 1520s.

SANTA CLARA DEL COBRE

This town was a copper mining town from 1553 onward. Today the mines are closed so the craft people use recyled copper to make beautiful items. Ernie, Wayne, Larry, Donna and I spent an enjoyable afternoon here.

QUIROGA RUINS

We just had a quick look at the ruins from the road where we stopped to buy macadain nuts. We want to come back here and explore these more. We found out when we got back to the RV park that there is a big cellibration going on in this town and tonight they were having the running of the "Bulls".
