LAGO DE PATZCUARO

The Lake is 3 miles from town and I think maybe 20 miles long. It has afew islands one of which is Isla Janitzio. It has a 40meter high statue of independence hero Jose Maria Morelos y Pavon. We rode our bikes down here and were surprised to find a harbor master office. One day we will take the boat ride out to the island. It is a 30 min. ride one way. Many people live on the island and operate tourist shops and cafes. I don't think I would eat the fish out of this lake. We saw the sewage pipe going into the lake. ITSH
